Agronomy Crowned State Champions at State FFA Judging Finals
(05/03/2009)On Saturday May 2, 2009 the Grace Davis FFA Chapter participated in the State FFA Judging Final held at Cal Poly State University in San Luis Obispo, Ca. We had 5 teams participating. The Grace Davis FFA Agronomy team placed 1st in the state contest. This is the ninth year in a row a school in Modesto City Schools has won a state judging title and will represent California at the National FFA Contests in October in Indianapolis, Indiana. Also, Diana Camarena was 13th high individual, Chris Beach 7th High, Arturo Barajas 4th High and Nicole Hyatt was 2nd High Individual. Conrats to All!!!
Fresno State FFA Field Day
(04/18/2009)On Saturday 4-18-09 the Grace Davis FFA Chapter attended the Fresno State FFA Field Day. We had teams participating in Poultry, B.I.G, Milks Quality, Floriculture and Agronomy.
Our teams did very well:
The Milks team placed 8th in the contest. Team members were: Brittany Hamrick, Kelly Johnston and Lindsey Visser.
The Poultry Team placed 6th missing 5th place by 1 point. Team members were: Michael Bernardini, Davis Costa, Breanna Martin and Corey Miller.
And our Agronomy team placed 1st. Team members were Nicole Hyatt, Chris Beach, Arturo Barajas and Diana Camarena. High individuals were as follows. Diana was 12th, Dallas Campbell was 10th, Arturo Barajas was 5th, Chris Beach was 2nd and Nicole was high individual for the contest.
All 5 teams will be competing May 2nd at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, in the State Judging Finals. Winners will represent California in Oct. at the National finals in Indianapolis, Indiana. Especially good luck to our Agronomy team!!!!!!!
56th Annual MJC FFA Field Day
(03/29/2009)On Saturday march 28, 2009, the Grace Davis FFA attended the 56th annual FFA Field at MJC. We had teams competing in Agronomy, Poultry, Best Informed Greenhand, Milks Quality and Floriculture.
In the Milks Quality Contest are team placed 8th. Team members were Brittany Hamrick, Lindsey Visser and Kelly Johnston. Brittany was also 8th high individual.
In the Poultry Contest our which consisted of Breanna Martin, Corey Miller, Travis Thompson and David Costa placed 5th in the contest.
In the Agronomy Contest our two teams placed 1st and 6th. Team 1 which placed first consisted of Nicole Hyatt, Arturo Barajas, Chris Beach and Diana Camarena.
Team 2 members who placed 6th were: Dallas Campbell, Isabel Barajas and Shannon Mahaffey.
Also Diana placed as 6th high individual, Chris 4th high, Arturo 2nd high and Nicole was high individual in the contest.

CRC FFA Field Day Results
(03/21/2009)On Sat. March 21, 2009 the Grace Davis FFA attended the Consumes River College FFA Field Day. We had teams participating in Poultry, Milk Quality and Floriculture.
Our Poultry Team placed 4th in the Contest. Team Members were: Breanna Martin, Travis Thompson, David Costa and Corey Miller.
Our Milks Quality Team placed 5th in their contest. Team members were: Brittany Hamrick, Kelly Johnston and Lindsey Visser.
And, our Floriculture Team placed 6th in that contest. Team members were, Brianna Watkins, Erin Davis, LaKeisha Martin and Whitney Speakman.

Chico State FFA Field Results
(03/17/2009)On Sat March 14th the Grace Davis FFA Chapter attended the Chico State Field Day. Teams in Agronomy, B.I.G., Milk Quality and Floriculture competed.
Results were as follows:
Agronomy: Team A – 1st High team, Team B – 5th High team
Team A Members were: Arturo Barajas, Nicole Hyatt, Diana Camarena and Chris Beach
Team B Members were: Dallas Campbell, Shannon Mahaffey, Danielle Hyatt and Isabel Barajas
High Individual results were as follows - Dallas was 11th, Diana 10th, Chris 5th, Arturo 4th, and Nicole was 3rd High Individual
The Milks Quality team placed 9th High Team
Team members were: Brittany Hamrick, Kelley Johnston and Lindsey Visser.

UC Davis FFA Field Day Results
(03/08/2009)On Sat. March 7, 2009 the Grace Davis FFA Chapter attended the UC Davis FFA Field Day in Davis. We had teams competing in Dairy Products, Floriculture, B.I.G., Poultry and Agronomy contests.
Our Poultry team which consisted of Corey Miller, Michael Bernardini, Breanna Martin and David Costa placed 6th as a team.
Our Agronomy team which consisted of Arturo Barajas, Chris Beach, Nicole Hyatt and Diana Camarena placed first beating Hanford FFA by 100 points. High individuals were as follows: 10th High – Arturo Barajas, 7th High Dallas Campbell, 5th High Diana Camarena, 4th High Chris Beach and High Individual was Nicole Hyatt. They will compete this coming Sat. at Chico State Univ.

Grace Davis FFA has two students place with Proficiencies
(02/15/2009)Jimmy Myers applies and wins first place in the area of Diversified Livestock Placment Proficiency. He now will compete at the State Level.
James is one of three that will interview for the State winner in this proficiency area.
Bethany Shimmel placed second in the Small Animal Production Placement Proficiency.
Congrats to both James and Bethany!
Arbuckle FFA Field Day Results
(02/01/2009)On Sat. Feb 6, 2009 the Grace Davis FFA attended the Arbuckle FFA Field Day. We took teams in Floriculture Dairy Products, B.I.G., Creed and Job Interview.
In the Job interview Contest Arturo Barajas placed 7th.
In the B.I.G. Contest the team placed 5th. Team members were: Victor Aguilera, Danielle Hyatt, Anna Bizyayeva and Ashlee Rodrigues.
